Smart Practice Management for Accountants
Project Story
MCRM was designed to help accounting practices manage client relationships and office operations in one shared workspace. Across its 2023–2026 product journey, the goal was not simply to build a CRM for storing client details; it was to create a comprehensive business management system for the office’s daily operations and client services.
SaaS architecture and tenant management were at the heart of the product. This created a foundation for service firms to use their own workspaces, manage processes around their team structure, and expand MCRM as their needs grow. A customer-focused approach guided decisions from the interface to workflows between modules.
Challenge
Accounting practices manage contracts, financial records, tax filings, proposals, and recurring tasks for many clients at once. When these workflows are spread across different spreadsheets and tools, information may be entered more than once; ownership and the next step can become unclear.
For a SaaS product used by multiple service firms, each tenant needed its own workspace and a reliable way to manage client relationships. Modules also had to work together so that the platform could provide a complete view of the practice.
Our Approach
We designed MCRM from the ground up as a tenant-managed SaaS product. On top of a core structure that gives each service firm its own workspace, we built modules around the daily work of accounting practices. The product was shaped around the office’s complete workflow, not a single screen or feature.
We connected client and contract management with finance, reconciliations and refunds, tax filings, and proposals. We also included budgeting and performance management, human resources, and dues management. Each module handles its purpose while remaining connected to shared client and work records.
We centered the user experience on recurring tasks and client relationships. Teams can find the information they need within the relevant workflow and track work by team and client.
Focus Areas
Outcome
Developed between 2023 and 2026, MCRM provides an expandable foundation for accounting practices to manage client relationships, finance, and operations on one SaaS platform. Tenant management supports separate workspaces for service firms, while the modules create coordinated workflows around each client.
Instead of disconnected screens, teams can track client, contract, tax filing, finance, and team workflows as part of one shared business record. MCRM provides a comprehensive digital workspace that helps accounting practices organize their work and deliver customer-focused services.
