E-commerce for a Multi-Branch Bakery
Project Story
Five O’Clock is a boutique bakery chain known for its curated products and branches in Istanbul and Bodrum. Taking orders online required more than copying the in-store experience onto a website. Each order had to follow the right flow according to location, delivery method, and selected product.
We treated the e-commerce solution as more than an online shop with product photos and a basket. We designed the complete journey: from a customer’s location and available branches to delivery choices, product customization, and checkout. The goal was to make branch and service complexity manageable in the digital system while keeping the customer experience simple.
Challenge
Bakery products—especially cakes—do not behave like standard e-commerce items. Delivery area, service fee, selected branch, and product preparation are all part of the order. Serving Istanbul and Bodrum from the same online store made these rules even more important.
Customers needed to see only suitable delivery options, while branch teams needed a clear view of how and where each order should be fulfilled. The experience also had to bring corporate information, standard products, and custom cake design into one digital journey.
Our Approach
We mapped how orders should flow according to customer location and delivery type. Location-based service fees show customers the options available in their area, while branch-aware delivery management routes orders to the right location. We also configured special delivery and shipping flows around product requirements.
We brought the Five O’Clock brand, product catalog, and ordering experience together in one e-commerce platform. A custom cake design tool makes personalization a natural step in the online shopping journey. Order management tools help each branch track incoming orders and delivery details.
We organized each step to reduce unnecessary choices for customers and give bakery teams the rules they need to fulfil orders correctly. The online store became an operational channel that manages products, locations, branches, and delivery together.
Focus Areas
Outcome
Five O’Clock customers can browse products online, select a delivery option for their location, and complete custom cake orders digitally. Because each order is routed according to its branch and delivery method, customers do not need to navigate the operational complexity.
Bakery teams can manage online orders with the relevant branch and service rules. The brand can take orders online while reducing internal complexity: customers order easily, and teams prepare each order for the right location and delivery flow.
